EDITORIAL
Welcome back
from the summer that wasn’t! Officially, to paraphrase Yogi, "It
ain’t over ‘til it’s over." Nonetheless, once Labor Day has
arrived, most of us close the pool, ready the rakes and tune the
snow blowers. The way the season sets up, a check of the home
generator might be a good idea too!
During a
post-hurricane (Charley) visit to Orlando, FL, your editor
viewed some of the devastation in the Kissimmee area, and
that was not the worst area struck. The concept might be the
selling point for installing and/or maintaining your customer’s
generator, and "battening down your own hatches."
We can
guarantee that our SCECA Picnic will be held, rain or shine.
We must have your confirmation in order to insure
sufficient food for all who attend. The event will be open
to all members whose dues is current, and their immediate
families. The picnic will be held at the Maple Pavilion of
Belmont Lake State Park, from Noon ‘til dark. The menu includes
burgers, franks, soda, salads, watermelon, etc. There will be
games for the kids, and Chair John McGinn promises some adult
competition in bocce ball, softball and horseshoes. There should
certainly be some fun for everyone, so mark your calendars, and
phone SCECA at (631) 361-7474, to confirm
your attendance.
Finally, we
hope you enjoy the enclosed Installation Dinner photos. If you
see Mr. Hugo Surdi, please congratulate him on yet another
milestone!
