SCECA is
celebrating the end of summer in September, with our Annual
Family Picnic. It’s scheduled for Sunday, September 14, at Hoyt
Farm in Commack. (NO rain date; come rain or shine.) We hope
you’ll reserve the date on your calendar, and join your SCECA
friends and their families, for good food and good conversation,
good times. If this paragraph looks familiar, it appeared in the
June issue of The Light. This is the reason that we’re sending
an “early edition:” We want to do everything possible to
encourage our members to take advantage of perks from your
Association! (Please see the information on Seminars and
pre-meeting sessions as well.)

we’re trying to include some new features in the newsletter, in
an effort to reflect your requests and suggestions. As always,
this follows my oft-repeated request to you for materials to
write about. So when you read the Birthday section, note mine
