EDITORIAL
Happy New
Year to all! In many ways, you will experience “business as
usual” in our Association. It will be those subtle changes which
will make the difference. Change, (in this editor’s opinion),
should not occur merely for the sake of change itself, but
rather to address the current status of the electrical industry
in general, and specifically, how it affects us locally. You’ll
note in the pages within that change is in the air, perhaps most
especially in Nassau County. No matter what the change may be,
if it effects you, we want to know about it, and act as an
Association, to promote change that will benefit the majority of
our members. On the flip side, if you “see something brewing,”
we need you to let us know, lest yet another “area with
jurisdiction” presents us with some unwanted change.
This issue of
The Light features some articles by people who can and will
assist us with the referenced change. Click for
SCECA’s President’s
Message; articles relating to change in
power source, (photovoltaics), and tax laws. If you want to consider how to
“change your bottom line,”
click here. In the insert, our attorney has
provided some reasons why we might consider changing some
business practices.
The only
thing we can accurately predict for 2004 is that changes will
occur. We hope they are changes for the better, and that SCECA
can assuage those changes that are less than palatable to our
members.
