Dear Members,
I would like to welcome all of
you back from a beautiful summer. I hope this edition finds
everyone in good health. I also hope everyone had nice
vacations, whether you went away, or just took some time off
and stayed locally. It’s amazing how much there is to do on
Long Island. If only we could find a way to make our summers
last as long as our winters last, life would be great!
Here’s an old cliché: “Time goes
on, but not too much changes.” I was visiting some of our
past September president reports. They covered gas and oil
prices, the local economy, and the last hurricane that hit New
Orleans. As I am writing this message, the weather channels
are predicting one of the biggest hurricanes in history to hit
that area. Our thoughts and prayers should be with the
residents in the area that is hit.
Our presentation for September
is on pools and will be giving by Ron Linsalato, Electrical
Inspector from the Town of Southampton. The majority of our
meetings this year will be giving by inspectors or instructors
on electrical issues that pertain to our livelihood. Your
input is very important to your Association, so any and
all ideas are welcome.
Again welcome back from our
summer break; we encourage you to attend all of our General
Meetings on the Third Thursday of every month, at the Holiday
Inn on Vets Highway in Ronkonkoma.
On a sad note I wanted to send
condolences out to the Surdi family on the passing of Hugo
Surdi.
Best regards,
Jack Morrell
SCECA President
