EDITORIAL
It seems as if we were just
preparing the first issue of “The Light” for our “new season.”
By now, some among us are hoping/planning for the wrap-up of
outside work and scheduling indoor work for the colder months.
(Yes, we should be so fortunate.) Doesn’t it seem that the most
pressing job violates any weather rule we attempt to follow?
The good news is that the upcoming seminars are scheduled
indoors, with climate control as well as hot & cold running
water, etc. (Please see inserts in this issue of The Light
for further information.)
I don’t remember the historical figure, but I think Ben Franklin
said, “If we don’t hang together, we’ll all hang separately.”
The quote can be applied today, from federal to state and local
governments. There is legislation in the wings that may
negatively effect your business. Please keep up with current
events and attend our meetings. Board member Kevin MacLeod
reports on legislative review. (We hope he’ll submit an article
in future newsletter issues.) But if you “leave it to the other
guy,” it may be too late for you to make your opinion known.
And in the spirit of “hanging together,” our brothers from
Nassau Electric League will hold their Trade Show October 25.
Please try to show your support. Their flyer can be found in
this issue of our newsletter.
With the encouragement of our Program chair, I’ve attempted to
include some new, interesting trade/theory information. (Please
see the article on EMF, with information excerpted from the
September ‘06 issue of EC&M.)
See you at the October meeting, our seminars, Nassau’s Trade
Show or maybe the local supply house.
