EDITORIAL
Your opinion
counts! That’s the message of our May editorial. SCECA elections
for Officers and Board are being held at the May General
Meeting. In addition, significant changes in our Constitution
and By-laws will be proposed. The above will effect how the
Association is run, and in this editor’s opinion, it should be
run to support the needs and interests of our members, not the
special interests of any one group. Only your attendance and
vote on these issues will make sure that your concerns are
addressed.
Perhaps the most important input from our Contractor members
relates to an issue concerning licensing: We have fielded
complaints from our members regarding advertising for electrical
work by unlicensed contractors. There is a County bill in the
making that would require contractors to include their license
number in any advertising. This could help or hurt, depending on
your perspective. We need your input before we go forward.
Please come to the May General Meeting to express your
viewpoint.
For Electrical Safety Week, SCECA First VP John McGinn has
provided a Quiz for Kids inserted in this issue. You may
wish to duplicate it for relatives, friends, and your customer’s
kids.
