SCECA’s Vendors’
Night Trade Show was a great success. Kudos to Chairman Steve
Nerwinski and his staff! We hope to meet deadline and publish
photos of the show in this issue of “The Light.” Steve’s motto,
“It gets better every year,” certainly was proven once again.
All of us on the SCECA Board still fondly remember the Trade
Show’s humble beginnings, pioneered twenty years ago by our
deceased Past Pres. Bill Gubing, in the basement of what is now
the Watermill Restaurant. Steve submitted some SCECA history;
see the centerfold of this newsletter.

Our Association
has had a busy year representing our members. Those who
regularly attend our meetings are well aware of the myriad
concerns we address; those who haven’t been around lately should
“catch up.” We hope you’ll join us at this meeting for elections
and a timely presentation on NEC article 680, by our local
inspectors.

We have some
rather lengthy information regarding Smithtown Building
Department requirements for electrical work, which will
(finally) be included in our June issue. (Remember to check
their regulations prior to starting work.)

The Nomination
slate for Board and Officers can be found on page 5 of this
