Remo Lucent Jr.  631-567-0398

We were pleased to see Greg Smith up and around at the Trade Show.

Congratulations and Happy Sweet 16 (again) to John McGinn’s daughter Jessica.  (Sorry, we got it wrong last month.)

As always, we request that appropriate information be provided to Remo and/or Joe, so we may celebrate your joys and share your sorrow.

TAX TIPS FOR ELECTRICIANS

Stuart A. Sinclair, CPA
(516) 935-2086

Let’s talk about car expenses.  Gasoline, oil, tires, repairs, insurance, depreciation, parking, tolls, licenses and garage rent are deductible to the extent that you are using your car for business.  Just going to and from your office is not good enough.  You must go from your office to a business associate or to a second office.  The mileage on the trip from your office to your other stops would be deductible.  Keep a log of your business mileage and odometer readings.  Save these records for three years.  Save proof of your odometer readings such as car repair bills.  Save the names and addresses of your contacts visited.  You don’t want the IRS to take the air out of your tires.

As always, we recommend that any questions regarding accounting and taxes be directed to Stuart.
