Jim Smith, Regional NYBFU Chief
Inspector gave a presentation on the differences between the NEC
2002 and the RCNYS 2007 codes. He distributed an illustrative
Cross Reference sheet comparing the NEC 2002 and the RCNYS
2007. (You had to be there to receive the handout!) |

NEWS OF NOTE:

A
seminar on NFPA 70 E arc-flash will be offered on
Wednesday March 25 @ 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Location is Mid Island
Electrical Supply at 59 Mall Dr, Commack. Class maximum is 40
people; we will have a sign up sheet at SCECA’s February General
Meeting. Seating will be on a first come basis. Cost is 65
dollars for contractor members and 75 dollars for employees.
Cost includes NFPA 70 E code book and dinner.
A seminar on Grounding &
Bonding, NEC Article 250 Part II will be held at the
Electrical Training Center in Copiague. The date is Saturday,
March 28. Fee is $50 for SCECA members and $75 per employee.
We’ve heard that LIPA will
not accept use of a multi-utility grounding plate
on meter pans. |
