EDITORIAL
Three years ago,
your SCECA president stood at the podium asking members if they
thought gas prices would remain at or under $2.00 per gallon.
Now we cheer when they retreat to $3.15 per gallon. We can
boycott companies or write letters of protest. The fact remains;
we must fill our tanks to go to work. And oh yes, the wire we
use to perform that work, along with nearly every part we
install has paralleled the increased cost of petroleum. We may
be experiencing a “Catch 22” situation: If we raise our prices,
we may lose a bid, but if we don’t we’ll lose our shirts. It
seems that now more than ever, we must work smarter, work
cooperatively and take advantage of the network of assets that
SCECA offers its members.
We hope you’ll join us to welcome newly-elected president Jack
Morrell and his officers and board members. They will be sworn
in at this June’s General Meeting. However the Board will not be
on break. Although there are no General Meetings in July and
August, they’ll be meeting to plan for the 2007-08. Should you
have any suggestions or requests, please see an officer or board
member.
