EDITORIAL
Quite often our editorial contains the words, ‘By the time you
read this.’ This issue begins with those words. Several months
ago, Jack Morrell, our recently-elected 2nd Vice President
proposed that SCECA become involved in some charity work in
Suffolk County. By coincidence, Secretary Tom Palk had a job
from Habitat for Humanity cross his desk. By the time you read
this, some Board, Officers and General Members will have donated
time, labor and materials to participate in a house project in
Bellport. Using materials and parts donated by Graybar and N &
S, the plan is to have the home roughed and completed in
approximately two five-hour days. The announcement at our May
General Meeting resulted in volunteers signing up to offer their
time or to provide parts to complete the job.
Truly these folks, supply houses and members took a big step
forward to “give something back” to those in need. In addition,
the good name of SCECA and its members goes up a rung on the
ladder. We hope more projects and more members to staff them
will come our way in the future. Thank you and congratulations
to all.

Please try to attend our June General Meeting. We hope you’ll
reserve your spot for the Annual SCECA picnic as well as the
OSHA seminar. (See information in this newsletter.) Also in the
wings is a Fall SCECA golf outing. Have a great, safe summer;
see you in September.
