EDITORIAL
On behalf of
your SCECA Board and Officers, we wish our readers a Happy and
Healthy New Year. The New Year brings with it some changes, (the
new National Electric Code), yet some things remain the same,
(the old National Electric Code). To address these “issues,”
your Association, in conjunction with the Suffolk County Office
of Consumer Affairs, is in the process of organizing a forum:
Representatives from Consumer Affairs, LIPA, Inspection
Agencies, Fire Marshals from the various Townships and Building
Department representatives will be invited. It is our hope that
the event will be hosted at a County Center, on March 23, 2005.
Seating will be limited, and we will be trying to provide access
to a cross section of members and contractors with various sizes
of shops and locations throughout the County. The plan is to
give priority to our members, and provide written confirmation
to those we can accommodate. Specifics are not finalized, but
will be provided as they become available.

Plans are under
way for another Seminar, probably business-related, and the
Trade Show is “just around the corner.” Details can be found in
this and following issues of “The Light.”

This issue of
Nassau Electric League’s “Bulletin” has some pertinent
information on safety in cold weather and the recent Florida
hurricanes. Try to obtain a copy; we have excerpted some of this
information for our readers.
Meanwhile, be safe, stay warm, and come on out to our January
meeting!
