$25,000 RAFFLE NEWS *Please Read:

Kevin MacLeod 258-7675

We started SCECA’s $25,000 Raffle in March, 2005.  At that time, the Board of Directors voted for the option to review the prize fund in March, 2006, and decide whether to continue the raffle, based on total tickets sold. To date, we have sold about 30 tickets for our $25,000 raffle. We need to sell another 308 by March 2006 in order to break even and support over $30,000 in prizes to be drawn.

It is likely that unless sales pick up, that the Board of Directors will vote to discontinue the $25,000 Raffle. If this happens, as per the rules specified on the back of each ticket, those that purchased tickets will get a full refund by mail. If you have any questions, you can contact SCECA at 631- 361-7474.

TAX TIPS FOR ELECTRICIANS

Stuart A. Sinclair, CPA
(516) 935-2086

For your 2005 tax return, your IRA limit is $4000 plus a $500 catch-up bonus for those taxpayers age 50 or over.  You have until April 15, 2006 to make your IRA contribution.

However, because April 15 falls on a Saturday, that extends the filing date to April 17, 2006.  To further complicate matters, since most NY taxpayers will file with the IRS center in Andover, MA, they will get an extra day for Patriots Day, extending the deadline to Tuesday, April 18, 2006.

As always, we recommend that any questions regarding accounting and taxes be directed to Stuart.
